CARSON FOR ENGLAND

Aston Villa's Scott Carson is expected to play against Croatia in England's crucial EURO 2008 CHAMPIONSHIPS qualifier instead of paul robinson, having got the nod from Steve McClaren with David James as the goalkeeper on the substitutes bench.
Paul Robinson has been dropped by coach Steve McClaren and will play no part in England's vital Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia on Wednesday. The Spurs man has lacked confidence whilst Scott Carson, who will be wearing his adidas goalkeeper gloves Winger Shaun Wright-Phillips is expected to replace David Beckham on the right whilst Gareth Barry, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole and Steven Gerrard complete a five-man midfield, with Peter Crouch up front. The back four is expected to be Micah Richards, Sol Campbell Joleon Lescott and Wayne Bridge.
The spirit in the camp is determined England need a point to seal qualification for next summer's finals in Austria and Switzerland. But a win at Wembley, The Cathedral of Football, could see them sensationally overtake group leaders Croatia and bring back to life what looked like a doomed campaign.
England squad: Carson, James, Richards, Campbell, Brown, Bentley, Ashley Cole, Shorey, Neville, Downing, Barry, Young, Wright-Phillips, Hargreaves, Lescott, Bridge, Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, Joe Cole, Smith, Defoe, Bent, Crouch.
